Synopsis: The Extreme Ghostbusters track down a Banshee, whose destructive vocal power endangers the entire city. Their mission hits a snag when Roland comes under the spell of the Banshee's sister, Syren, a paranormal being who uses her identity as a rock singer to hypnotize her listeners and then drain away their youth.

• Title Reference: Sonic Youth was an American alternative rock band from New York City that was formed in 1981. In their early career, Sonic Youth was associated with the No Wave art and music scene in New York City.
• Years before Extreme Ghostbusters came out, a comic book was formed out of Marvel's New Mutants entitled "X-Force." One of the members, Syren, is an Irish girl who can scream amazingly loud. Her father, Banshee, had the same ability. (thanks to Joshua Wiebe for this information)
