Ghostbusters: Night Shift "Greetings From Annecy, France" Postcard (PKE Report Follow-Up)

Sony will be launching a new animated series entitled Ghostbusters: Night Shift on Netflix sometime in 2027. I just received my first piece of physical promotional material for the show. Read on to learn more...

Last month, on May 7th, Sony sent out the inaugural edition of the PKE Report e-mail newsletter. It opened by informing recipients that "pretty soon a lucky handful of you are gonna get something in the mail". Today, June 30th, I received that "something": a rather ill-timed postcard "from Annecy, France" giving me my "first look" at Ghostbusters: Night Shift. I say "ill-timed" because this should have been received a week earlier when (1) it would have been a "first look", and (2) the show's creatives were still at Annecy.

Anyway, one side of the postcard features the concept art that we all got our first look at last week, on June 24th. Technically, there is a slight difference between the art revealed last week and the artwork on the card: the sun has been moved. Other than that, it's the same artwork.

The damage you see in my scan below was likely caused by USPS and is not part of the image. MrMichaelT from the Ghostbusters Wiki sent me a photo of his postcard and both of ours have the significant horizontal lines, but the rest is different. His doesn't have the splotch in the lower right corner.

The reverse side has "Greetings From Annecy, France" in the upper left corner, making it look like a "tourist postcard". (Is there any other kind?) Below that, in printed "handwriting", it says, "Here's your first look at Ghostbusters: Night Shift. Coming to Netflix in 2027. -- Best, Ghostbusters." That horrible logo is printed to the right. My postcard, as well as MrMichaelT's, have a slight "tear" (the paper is peeling) on the right side of this side. His is near the top, mine is at the bottom. In my scan below, I erased this damage (and my name & address and the USPS barcode) so as to present the postcard as originally intended.

Ok, it's a nice card, though it would have been nicer without the damage by USPS. I will admit, when the PKE Report said that I would get "something in the mail", I was hoping for something a little more significant. Maybe a few Night Shift artwork photocards in an envelope. That said, I'm not complaining. This is my first piece of "merch" for the show :-)
